SAFFRON, EXPLAINED

Why saffron is the most precious spice in the world.

Saffron comes from the Crocus sativus flower, each blossom produces only three red stigmas.

They are harvested by hand at sunrise and dried with precision, around 150,000 flowers are needed for one kilogram.

This is why saffron is not rare by accident, it is rare by nature.

GUESTHOUSE

Come for saffron. Stay in Armenia.

Our saffron fields are only one part of a much larger story. Armenia offers ancient monasteries, historic wine regions, traditional cuisine, and mountain landscapes unlike anywhere else.

At the Sari Safran Guesthouse, we welcome visitors throughout the year. What begins with saffron becomes a deeper experience of Armenian culture, hospitality, and everyday life.

This is not a hotel experience. It is a home, close to the land.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Where soil, precision and responsibility meet

Sari Safran was founded in 2017 in Sarigyugh, a small village in Armenia’s Tavush region. What began as an idea to create meaningful rural employment became a long-term agricultural commitment.

We cultivate Crocus sativus under ecological principles, without herbicides, with careful water use, and with deep respect for the soil. Every flower is harvested by hand. Every thread is selected with intention.

Our work connects Armenian agricultural heritage with Swiss precision and quality standards. Local knowledge meets structured craftsmanship. Experience flows in both directions.

We believe premium quality is not loud. It is consistent. Transparent. Responsible.

Sari Safran is more than a spice. It is a collaboration between land, people, and long-term thinking.
